The app utilizes Apple’s TrueDepth Camera and proprietary computer vision algorithms (developed by KNOCKOUT 3D) to capture patient shapes. The bounding box (or the volume the scanner analyzes) is pre-calibrated to fit a variety of clinical needs. Inside the app, the clinician has the ability to choose between a number of different scanning presets. After selecting their desired preset, the app automatically adjusts the bounding box and a clinician and begin scanning.
Following a scan, the file (.obj or .stl) is uploaded to the cloud and is immediately ready for download via the Comb Portal.
